This is such a cool way to seek information!
Qwiki is a platform that uses proprietary technology to consolidate multiple data sources on search topics into an immersive information experience. So basically, you search any term in their engine (even your own name) and a presentation will pop up displaying your information, where you went to school, where you work, your hobbies and achievements (probably who you are dating too!).
It’s amazing how rapidly technology evolves. A few months down the line (given that technology grows exponentially), this software will be a household name and when you apply for a job, the boss won’t have 3 hours to seek you out on googles 200,000 pages of results for *John Smith” (or try to find you on facebook, twitter, linkedin, myspace etc); Instead your potential future boss will simply plug in your name on Qwiki and watch a quick presentation on who you are and what you are involved in – you know – the latest playboy magazine you purchased, the strip club you geo-tagged on foursquare and the most recent beer pong tournament you won… Or (on the other end of the spectrum) nothing will come up at all, and your potential boss will say, hey, I guess this person really doesn’t exist on the internet, I guess I won’t hire them for marketing specialist!
* The new start up just won an award at the TechCrunch Disrupt SF event. It’s so inspiring to watch technology evolve so quickly… After watching CEO Doug Imbruce sample how the Qwiki phone app works, I was blown away – and excited to learn more.
